Therapy dogs bring smiles to Cancer Treatment Center

Got Your Six Support Dogs is a nonprofit organization offering therapy dog training classes for dogs and their owners interested in volunteering in their community.

Each volunteer and therapy dog makes about 15 visits a month to facilities such as nursing homes, hospitals, schools, detention centers and assisted living centers.  These furry friends offer comfort and bring smiles to individuals at these facilities.

Potential therapy dogs must first pass obedience and temperament classes before they can be trained to become a therapy dog.  All dog breeds are welcome. Lexie, Titan, and Bailey (pictured here) make regular visits to Cancer Treatment Center in Swansea and enjoy engaging with patients, visitors, and staff.
